Evidence-based coaching led by experienced psychologists with lived experience of neurodivergence

What is neurodiversity coaching?

Neurodiversity coaching is a specialist form of coaching built around how neurodivergent brains work. Not how neurotypical systems expect them to. It draws on deep knowledge of ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and AuDHD to help you develop strategies, routines and ways of working that are genuinely effective for your profile.

Most neurodivergent adults arrive at coaching having spent years adapting, compensating and masking inside systems that were not built for them. Exhausted by working twice as hard to achieve the same results. Neurodiversity coaching starts from a different premise. Your cognitive profile has genuine strengths. Coaching helps you access them.

ThinkND provides neurodiversity coaching in Leeds and across Yorkshire. It is psychologist-led, evidence-informed and shaped by the lived experience of neurodiversity — not just knowledge of it.

Who can benefit from neurodiversity coaching?

Our coaching is for adults who identify as neurodivergent, whether formally diagnosed or self-identifying. We work across:

  • ADHD coaching — attention, impulsivity, time management, emotional regulation and executive function

  • Autism coaching — communication, energy management, masking and self-advocacy

  • Dyslexia coaching — confidence and practical strategies around reading, writing and processing

  • Dyspraxia coaching — organisation, planning, coordination and movement

  • Dyscalculia coaching — managing difficulties with numbers and financial decision-making

  • AuDHD coaching — specialist support for people who are both autistic and ADHD, where needs are often more complex and less well-served

  • Lesser-known neurodivergent profiles — including Tourette’s, Irlen syndrome, developmental coordination disorder and other conditions that receive less attention but benefit equally from specialist coaching

  • Stress, burnout and wellbeing — many neurodivergent adults are referred through Access to Work, carrying significant workplace stress or burnout alongside their neurodivergent profile. We work with the whole picture, not just the diagnosis

Access to Work funding is accepted. If you are employed and neurodivergent, you may be eligible for government funding to cover your coaching costs. We can support your application.

ADHD coaching, autism coaching and the full range of neurodivergent profiles

We work with neurodivergent adults across a range of professional contexts and life stages.

Neurodivergent adults

You have probably spent a long time working around yourself. Coaching offers something different: a psychologically informed space to understand how you actually think, recognise what you are genuinely good at and build an approach to work and life that fits your brain. We work across ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and AuDHD, including complex and overlapping profiles.

Executives and leaders

Being a high-performing leader and being neurodivergent are not incompatible. But leading without understanding your own cognitive profile has a cost. Executive coaching with a neurodiversity lens helps you lead from your strengths, manage your energy and stop working around yourself. Many of our executive clients are late-diagnosed or undiagnosed. For many, it is the first time someone has understood both who they are and what their role requires.

Founders and entrepreneurs

The pattern recognition, hyperfocus and risk tolerance that drive entrepreneurship are frequently neurodivergent traits. Coaching helps you build a business that works with your brain. We work with founders on decision-making, communication, team dynamics and sustainable performance.

Why choose ThinkND?

Neurodiversity coaching is a growing field. Not all of it is equal. Paula Louise Dixon, BPS Coaching Psychologist and Business Psychologist, leads ThinkND coaching — and that combination is uncommon.

Paula brings three things most coaches cannot. Deep psychological training grounded in evidence and current research. Cross-sector experience working with leaders at every level across multiple sectors, which means she understands the real pressures of leadership from the inside — not just the theory of it. And she is both a founder and neurodivergent herself. She is not interpreting your experience from the outside. She is working from the same territory. Here is what that means in practice.

Psychologist-led, not just coach-led

ThinkND coaching is led by Paula Louise Dixon, BPS Coaching Psychologist and Business Psychologist — a dual accreditation that is uncommon in the neuroinclusion coaching space.

Paula has a neurodiversity specialism, over 15 years of practice and is currently pursuing BPS Coaching Chartership. She is also neurodivergent herself. As ThinkND grows, all coaching is delivered by practitioners selected for their neurodiversity expertise and values alignment. You will not work with someone whose neurodiversity knowledge begins and ends with a quick course. The difference matters. A coach trained only in ADHD strategies will help you with time management and organisation. That is useful. But it is not the same as coaching that draws on habit formation, wellbeing science, strengths psychology, leadership identity, communication and resilience, and understands how neurodivergence intersects with all of them.

Beyond ADHD — the full range of neurodivergent profiles

Many coaches in Leeds and Yorkshire work only with ADHD. ThinkND works across ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and AuDHD — including the complex, overlapping profiles that do not fit neatly into one category and are frequently underserved.

Trauma-informed

Many neurodivergent adults carry years of being misunderstood, dismissed or pathologised. That history does not disappear at the door. Psychological safety is not an aspiration here. It is the foundation.

Lived experience alongside professional expertise

Paula identifies as neurodivergent. This is not a professional position, it is lived reality. It means your coach understands your experience from the inside, not just the research literature. The two things together matter.

Grounded in Yorkshire, connected nationally

ThinkND is Leeds-based and works with individuals and organisations across West Yorkshire, the wider Yorkshire region and nationally. As a UKRI-funded research partner, Paula is actively studying neurodiversity in Yorkshire workplaces. That is not a line on a CV — it means our coaching is shaped by current evidence, not just established practice.

What our coaching draws on

Most ADHD and neurodiversity coaching focuses on the basics: time management, organisation, and coping strategies. Those things matter. But for many of the people ThinkND works with — executives, founders, senior leaders, people who have been high-functioning for years and are now hitting a wall — that is not enough.

This work goes deeper. Paula’s background spans organisational psychology, coaching psychology and years of practice across sectors and seniority levels. That means coaching can move across a much wider territory: habit formation and behaviour change, wellbeing and resilience, strengths identification, leadership identity and persona, communication style, values alignment, and self-regulation. The areas that actually determine whether a neurodivergent leader thrives or keeps grinding. This is a knowledge base that someone who has completed a short neurodiversity course simply cannot replicate. What you will find is careful listening, honest challenge and evidence-informed strategy that translates into real change.

Depending on what you bring, our coaching draws on:

Many of the barriers neurodivergent people experience are not individual deficits. They are the product of a mismatch between a person and systems that were not designed for them. Good coaching addresses both — the person and the system they are operating in.

Co-coaching: extend beyond the individual

Many of the challenges neurodivergent people experience at work arise in relationship — with managers, peers and teams. Alongside 1:1 coaching, ThinkND offers structured co-coaching sessions for managers and employees, and team development workshops using Lumina Spark. Access to Work funding can cover line manager sessions.

What working with ThinkND looks like…

No two coaching journeys look the same. Here is how we typically begin.

Step 1 - Discovery call (30 mins)

A focused 30-minute conversation to establish what you need, whether coaching is the right vehicle and whether ThinkND is the right fit.

Step 2 - Bespoke Programme Design

Your programme is designed around your profile, your goals and your pace — not a standard package. We draw on psychometric tools, structured frameworks and psychological assessment where relevant. The starting point is always you, not a template.

Step 3 - 1:1 Coaching Sessions

Sessions of 60 to 120 minutes, scheduled depending on your pace and goals. Available in person in Leeds and locally, or online across the UK and internationally. Schedule and format are agreed with you.

Step 4 - Review and ongoing development

We review progress against your goals regularly and adjust the approach as your work evolves. Coaching can be time-limited or ongoing. Most clients begin with a structured programme and choose to continue once they see the impact.

  • "Paula is an expert in dealing with neurodivergent leaders. She has depth of knowledge and real expertise. She helped me understand what a late diagnosis of combined ADHD meant for me as a leader and MD — not just personally, but in how my behaviour affects my team and business. There is a lot of misinformation about ADHD online, and Paula cut through that with scientific clarity and practical mental techniques I could apply immediately. I was able to reframe what I saw as personal faults into symptoms, releasing decades of guilt and low confidence. Paula goes with me when I go down rabbit holes, but she keeps her boundaries and brings me back to what matters — always with kindness, insight and very high competence."

Suzie Bogle MA, FCIPD FCMI, MD, Independent HR Consultancy, Yorkshire (ADHD, late diagnosis)

  • "In the past six months of working with Paula, my perspective on my work and my career has transformed. Initially seeking support with managing my newly diagnosed ADHD in a high-stress role, Paula helped me to confront and navigate burnout. What stood out the most was how she didn't just coach my ADHD — she coached me. Rather than only addressing the practical challenges I described, Paula helped me go much deeper, reflecting on my values and core strengths and what this meant for my situation. In the end, I was able to come to some life-changing conclusions and now feel confident and capable for the first time in years."

EW, Senior Professional (ADHD, newly diagnosed)

  • "I was initially referred to Paula for twelve neurodiversity coaching sessions, but in the end I feel that our coaching journey was so much more than that. From the neurodiversity perspective, Paula helped me reframe the barriers I faced, and we worked together to identify realistic strategies to address them. On top of this, Paula used her skills in leadership and career coaching to add a whole new level. Rather than just coming out of this feeling that I could cope better with daily work, I am actively thriving and taking positive steps in my career that I would not have considered a year ago."

SN Senior Professional (ADHD and executive coaching)

  • "Transformational is the word I would use. Through coaching with Paula, I have become more confident, more self-aware and far less constrained by imposter syndrome and anxiety. I have learned how to recognise when I am fused with unhelpful thinking, how to create psychological flexibility and how to respond with curiosity, calm and rationality rather than overwhelm."

Lucy Whitwell, Head of Data, Browne Jacobson

  • "I attended a series of coaching sessions with Paula through Access to Work and found them incredibly helpful. As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, we worked on addressing issues with time management, motivation, consistency, and even my general attitude toward work. One of Paula's strengths as a coach is her expertise in psychoeducation. We didn't just cover coping strategies but looked deeper into why these techniques work, helping me gain a better understanding. I highly recommend Paula to anyone seeking a supportive and knowledgeable neurodiversity coach."
